Werkwijze | Craft
Vilten is een ambachtelijke techniek waarbij de wol handmatig wordt gewreven waardoor een unieke textielcreatie ontstaat.
Felting is a traditional technique in which wool is rubbed manually, creating a unique textile creation.
Materiaal | Materials
De wol is afkomstig van verschillende schapen soorten in Nederland. Na het scheren door de herders wordt de wol gewassen, plantaardig geverfd en handmatig gekaard.
The wool comes from different sheep species in the Netherlands. After shearing by the shepherds, the wool is washed, vegetable dyed and carded manually.
Plantaardige verfstoffen | Plantbased dyes
De wol is geverfd met plantaardige verfstoffen. We werken o.a. met wouw ( geel), meekrap (rood), indigo ( blauw), walnoot ( bruin). Dit proces blijft fascinerend en de combinaties zijn van nature harmonieus.
The wool is dyed with vegetable dyes. Just a few plant we work with are: madder root (red), weld ( yellow), walnut ( brown), indigo ( blue). This proces remains fascinating and the colour combinations are by nature harminious.
