Vilten is een ambachtelijke techniek waarbij de wol handmatig met water en zeep wordt gewreven.
Felting is a traditional technique in which wool is rubbed manually.
Natuurlijke materialen | Natural materials
De viltwerken worden uitsluitend van natuurlijke materialen gemaakt, wol en zijde.
The feltworks are exclusively made of natural materials, wool and silk.
Plantaardige verfstoffen | Plantbased dyes
De wol en zijde zijn geverfd met plantaardige verfstoffen o.a. met wouw (geel), meekrap (rood), indigo (blauw), walnoot (bruin) en uienschillen (geel/oranje). Dit proces is fascinerend.
The wool and silk are dyed with only plantbased dyes. Just a few of the plants are madder root (red), weld (yellow), walnut (brown), indigo (blue) and onion skin ( orange). The proces remains fascinating.
Opdracht | Commission
Het viltwerk wordt gemaakt in overleg met de opdrachtgever, de afmeting, de kleurstelling en ontwerp en is mijn verhaal :).

Mijn verhaal/ my story
Veel kunst vertrekt vanuit trauma of een politiek/sociaal statement en dat waardeer ik. Maar ik wil iets ander laten zien: verwondering, aandacht en ambacht.
Bloemen fascineren mij: in de natuur en in onze cultuur dragen ze leven, schoonheid en betekenis. Hoe beter je kijkt hoe meer je de verfijning ziet. Ik probeer dat te vangen met de flair van impressionistische penseelstreken.
Vilt is daarbij mijn materiaal: gelaagd, zacht en uitnodigend om aan te raken. Het brengt rust en aanwezigheid, juist in deze snelle en digitale wereld.
Much art originates from trauma or a political/social statement, and I value that. But I want to show something different: wonder, attentiveness and craftsmanship.
Flowers fascinate me: in nature and in our culture they carry life, beauty and meaning. The more closely you look , the more refinement you see. I try to capture this with the flair of impressionistic brushstrokes.
Felt is my material of choice: layered, soft and inviting to touch. It brings calm and awareness, especially needed in today's fast-paced, digital world.
